Prime Minister Narendra Modi Has asked the officers to be ready for ‘dhamadham’ work. He said that a lot of work is going to be done from the very next day after he takes oath for the third consecutive term. Expressing confidence in the formation of a new government after the general elections, the Prime Minister said that work will begin with more determination and seriousness to make India economically self-reliant. Speaking at an event organized on the occasion of the 90th Foundation Day of RBI, he said, “I am busy in elections for the next 100 days. You have plenty of time. You should keep it in mind, because the next day of taking the oath, a big deal is going to happen.
India’s self-reliance needs to be increased
“We have to increase India’s economic self-reliance,” he said. Modi said the banking sector has become profitable and credit growth is increasing due to the efforts made by his government and the RBI in the last decade. He further said that the gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of public sector banks, which stood at about 11.25 per cent in 2018, are expected to come down to less than three per cent by September, 2023. Modi said the problem of ‘twin balance sheets’ (problems at the level of books of accounts of banks and companies) is now a thing of the past.
New government will take oath in June
The seven-phase Lok Sabha elections will be held from April 19 to June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. The new government will take oath in June. Within 100 days of Modi’s second term as Prime Minister in 2019, several steps were taken including the abrogation of Article 370 which gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Modi said many new sectors are being created and there is a need to develop expertise in financing those sectors. He said that such issues should be discussed.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of innovation in the 21st century. He asked to be prepared for the upcoming proposals regarding cutting-edge technologies and identification of employees with the team for work. He asked bank officials and regulators to prepare for the needs of new and traditional sectors like space and tourism. Modi said that Ayodhya is going to become the world’s largest religious tourism center in the coming years.
