The Central Government is making a single window arrangement to save pensioners and retired senior citizens from having to go to different departments and provide them all the facilities at one place. For this, the government has announced to set up a ‘single-window’ portal. Union Minister Jitendra Singh gave this information on Tuesday. He said that this portal would not only help in maintaining continuous contact with pensioners and their associates across the country, but would also be able to continuously receive their suggestions and complaints etc. for quick response.
Addressing the 32nd meeting of the Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA) for Review and Streamlining of Pension Rules (SCOVA), the Union Minister said that since the year 2014, with the objective of making the life of the common man easier, the pension scheme under the leadership of Prime Minister August 2, 2021

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Singh said that the objective of Common Pension Portal is to ensure solution of all the problems of pensioners through a digital platform at one place so that they do not have to make rounds of different departments. He said that since 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many revolutionary changes have been brought in the pension rules to bring “ease of living” to the common man.
“The objective of the Common Pension Portal is to create a single window digital mechanism for pensioners to raise their grievances and resolve them without having to approach various officials personally,” it said.
Said that all the ministries responsible for processing, sanctioning or disbursing pension arrears are connected with this system and complaints are sent after assessment to the concerned ministry or department for resolution. “The pensioners, as well as the nodal officers, can check the status of the complaint online till the settlement in the system,” he added.
SCOVA is a useful platform for consultation with the stakeholders i.e. pensioners through their organizations and concerned Ministries/Departments. . Pensioners’ organizations from Jammu, Jaipur, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chandigarh and other parts of the country participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the shortage of doctors in CGHS wellness centres, periodic health check-up of pensioners, various issues related to CGHS wellness center in Jammu, enrollment of pensioners for life arrears, grant-in-aid and laptops to pension courts and selected pensioners’ associations. Issues related to approval were discussed.
Singh said that we need to emphasize on making good use of the knowledge, experience and efforts of the retired employees which can help in value addition to the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare. The Union Minister informed that since the introduction of doorstep service for submission of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) through postman in November 2020, more than 3,08,625 life certificates have been done through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
