West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Rampurhat in Birbhum on Thursday. At the same time, before the visit of CM Mamta Banerjee, a gate was installed in the area to welcome her, on which ‘Welcome’ was written. TMC faced a lot of criticism for this. At the same time, in a TV debate, the news anchor questioned the TMC MP on the welcome of Mamta Banerjee with ‘swag’.
In Times Now Navbharat’s debate show ‘Nationalism’, news anchor Sushant Sinha asked TMC MP Aparupa Poddar sharp questions about the violence in Birbhum. Sushant Sinha asked, “Mamata Banerjee had gone there to share grief and there were posters of welcome, it is as if someone has died in someone’s house and you take laddoos. Why so?”
On the question of the anchor, Aparupa Poddar said, “Mamata Banerjee is the CM of West Bengal, she met the victims, listened to them. He had said that any kind of incident is unfortunate. Mamata Banerjee is with the victim’s family and they will get justice.” On this Sushant Sinha again asked, “What must be going on those people who have lost their loved ones in the violence, who were leaving their homes and those people have seen the welcome posters?”
Aparupa Poddar said on this, “No government would want any such incident of violence to happen, this incident will be fully investigated and exposed.” However, the TMC MP was reluctant to reply on the matter of the poster.
Following the murder of a Trinamool leader in Rampurhat, houses were torched by a mob, in which eight people were burnt to death. After the murder of TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh, the mob set the doors of 10-12 houses on fire. Here the bodies of 7 people were removed from the same house. The Mamata government is facing all-round criticism over the Birbhum violence. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee has spoken of a big conspiracy behind this violence.
