In December 1989, when I won the elections, I was given the responsibility of Kashmir by the party. Advani ji made me sit in the library and study about Kashmir for hours, what was the decision taken in the first meeting of Kashmir.
She told that “Kedarnath Sahni ji was given the responsibility of Jammu and Kashmir, in which I also used to go. I saw how much the people of Kashmir were in trouble, they had come out of the snow and in Jammu where there is terrible heat, tents were put up on the banks of the canals. How many people died of diseases in it, children died, women died, old people died. I have seen the hardships I have endured, I don’t even need to watch the film. I have seen people suffer.”
