Karnataka Legislative Council member H Vishwanath has slammed the government of Basavaraj Bommai, saying that the enmity between the two communities is increasing continuously in the state and the government is seen as a mute spectator. Keep in mind that Vishwanath is one of the few leaders who toppled the Congress-JD(S) government and paved the way for Yudiyurappa to become the CM.
In the matter of removing Muslim shopkeepers from the Udupi temple complex, he said that this is absolutely wrong. The government is being run by BJP, not Bajrang Dal and RSS. However, he avoided the question whether the BJP government had bowed before the right wing people. He said that Muslim people were earning their livelihood by doing small jobs. Evicting these people from the temple premises is like starving them.
Congress accuses Bommai of commission
The Congress on Monday accused ministers of the BJP government in Karnataka of demanding 40 per cent commission from contractors and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the corruption case and sack the state government. The opposition party also said that the matter should be probed under the supervision of the court. There has been no response from the BJP on his allegations so far.
Congress General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala tweeted that allegations of corruption have been leveled against the Bommai government and its ministers. Despite this, the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, ED, CBI and ACB are in silence. He said that the complainant is a BJP leader. Does BJP mean eat and feed in Karnataka? He has said that Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister K. Eshwarappa is alleged to have demanded commission from a contractor by his associates.
On the other hand, Congress MP L Hanumanthaiah told the media at Vijay Chowk outside the Parliament that several contractors’ associations of Karnataka have said that the ministers of the Karnataka government are demanding 40 percent commission in government contracts and due to this they are facing a lot of trouble. Huh. He said that we want the Prime Minister to intervene in this matter and the Karnataka government should be sacked and action should be taken against those against whom allegations have been made.
