Kerala president reprimanded members for not wearing masks properly

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 9 (IANS) | When law-makers become law-breakers things are fine, but the same does not apply to the street person. Saying this, Kerala Assembly Speaker M.B. Rajesh reprimanded all the members on Monday. Rajesh intervened when state Revenue Minister K. Rajan was speaking in the House. He pointed out that it appears that CPI(M) MLA A.N. Shamsheer has completely ignored the use of masks.

Rajesh said, “What I can see is that many people on both sides of you are not wearing masks properly. It should be noted that the proceedings of the House are being broadcast and the public is seen without masks. will send the wrong message.” Incidentally, recently there has been a huge public outcry over the manner in which police officers are engaged in imposing fines on people for violating the COVID protocol. According to the data provided by the government, in the last four days, the police have collected Rs 2.94 crore as fine from 58,941 people for not wearing masks properly.
