Kerala youth allegedly involved in terrorist organization Islamic State has been murdered in Afghanistan. Intelligence sources said that according to the publication of the terrorist organization, this information has been received. Intelligence sources said they did not have official confirmation of the death. But they have identified the photograph of “Najib al Hindi” in the latest issue of Voice of Khorasan as Najeeb, a resident of Ponmala in Kerala’s Malappuram district, who was pursuing his MTech in Vellore city of Tamil Nadu.
At the same time, close relatives of Najeeb’s family told that they have heard that Najeeb has been murdered and they have also identified his photo. A friend of Najeeb’s family in Ponmala said they believed that Najeeb had died. A family friend said, “The family has confirmed Najeeb’s picture in the publication. They had heard of his death in the past as well. The Voice of Khorasan said he was killed months after arriving in Afghanistan.”
Intelligence sources said a missing case was registered in August 2017 based on a complaint by Najeeb’s mother. A source said, “Later we realized that he had left the country and joined ISIS in Afghanistan. We do not know when he was killed in Afghanistan, the confirmation of his death is based on the announcement made in the Voice of Khorasan.”
Weeks after Najeeb went missing in July-August 2017, he reportedly sent a message to his family on a Telegram app that he had fled among the infidels and would soon be martyred. The message on his part said, “There is no point in living with the infidels and I have fled the world of the infidels.”
At the same time, ISIS chief Ibrahim was killed by US special security forces in Syria. On Thursday, ISIS spokesman Abu Omar al-Mujahir confirmed this in a recorded statement. Ibrahim was made the leader of ISIS after the death of Abu Bakr Baghdadi.
