The leader of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik and MLC Akshay Pratap alias Gopal has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment by the MP/MLA court of Pratapgarh. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 10 thousand. The court has given this sentence to Akshay Pratap in the case of taking arms license at the fake address of Pratapgarh. After the announcement of the sentence, Akshay Pratap was sent back to the district jail.
Earlier, outgoing MLC and former MP Akshay Pratap Singh alias Gopal was sent to judicial custody on March 22 after reserving the verdict on the sentence. Where late evening Raja Bhaiya also reached the district jail to meet him. It is to be known that in September 1997, a case was registered against MLC Akshay Pratap alias Gopal for getting arms license made at a fake address.
In this case, the then Kotwal DP Shukla had filed a fraud case against him. It was alleged that Akshay Pratap had obtained arms license at a fake address of Pratapgarh. Then on March 15, during the hearing of the trial in this case, the MP / MLA court had also convicted MLC Akshay Pratap alias Gopal. After this, Akshay Pratap was summoned to the court on 22 March to pronounce the verdict.
However, on March 22 i.e. on Tuesday, the court sent him to judicial custody for one day, while not delivering the verdict. After this, Akshay Pratap Singh was brought to the court from Pratapgarh district jail at around 2 pm on 23 March. Then the special judge sentenced MLC Akshay Pratap alias Gopal to seven years in jail and also imposed a fine of 10 thousand in the case of taking arms license at a fake address.
The punishment of the leader of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik and MLC Akshay Pratap alias Gopal is a big setback for Raja Bhaiya. It is to be known that this time Akshay Pratap alias Gopal had filed nomination papers from Pratapgarh Local Authority Constituency as a candidate of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik. Akshay Pratap has been elected MLC from this seat for three consecutive times.
