New Delhi. Former Delhi government minister Rajkumar Anand has recently resigned from his ministerial post and the Aam Aadmi Party. He informed about his resignation through a letter to the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, in which he raised many questions on the Kejriwal government.
“Betrayal of the people of Delhi”
In his letter, Anand wrote that Aam Aadmi Party was born from the anti-corruption movement, but today the party is immersed in corruption. He said that two ministers are in jail and the Chief Minister is also in jail. There are serious allegations of corruption against the government. He said he did not think the government had any moral right to remain in power.
What did the Delhi Minister claim about the Centre?
He said that the biggest betrayal has happened to the party workers and the people of Delhi, who had sent Aam Aadmi Party to power with high hopes of ending corruption. However, after coming to power, the party has not been able to save itself from corruption.
“I don’t want to associate my name with their corruption.”
Anand said that the party leaders are involved in corruption while the party workers work hard in the sun. He wrote in the letter that today Aam Aadmi Party workers have become mere ticket sellers. He found it inconvenient to serve as a minister in this government and no longer wanted to associate his name with their corruption.
ED raids Rajkumar Anand’s residence
In November last year, just before the ED called CM Kejriwal for questioning in the liquor scam, the ED had raided the residence of minister Rajkumar Anand. The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches at 9 places including the minister’s official residence in Civil Lines. It was revealed that the ED team conducted the raid in connection with a case related to Anand’s business dealings and suspected involvement in hawala transactions. The raid was also related to a customs case.
