According to the Economic Survey of Delhi 2021-22, in terms of per capita income, Delhi ranks third after Sikkim and Goa. According to the survey, in the financial year 2021-22, Delhi’s per capita income increased by 16.81 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,01,982. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia presented the Economic Survey report for the financial year 2021-22 in the Assembly on Friday.
According to this, Delhi’s per capita income in 2021-22 was three times higher than the national average. The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Delhi has registered a growth of 17.65 percent in the financial year 2021-22 as compared to the previous year. This is Rs 9,23,967 crore. There was a revenue surplus of Rs 1,450 crore in the year 2021-22.
According to the Economic Survey 2021-22, about 93 percent households in Delhi now have piped water supply. Water production during the summer has remained constant at 953 million gallons per day (MGD). The survey report tabled in the Assembly on Friday by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also said that Delhi’s water demand will increase to 1,505 MGD this year against the expected supply of 1,200 MGD.
Water is supplied to a population of about 20 million through an existing water supply network of 15,041 km long pipelines and about 125 underground reservoirs (UGRs). In addition, a total of 407 new water tankers with GPS fitted stainless steel containers are engaged in improving the water supply system in the city, the report said. Apart from these, about 530 mild steel tankers (during summer) and 250 new stainless steel tankers are being added to the existing fleet for supply to water scarcity areas.”
Based on the norm of 60 gallons per person per day (GPCD), an estimated 23 million population needs 1,380 MGD of water this month. It said that the government has been able to provide regular water supply to 1583 (88 per cent) out of 1,797 unauthorized colonies, while 602 have been connected to the sewer network so far.
