After the resounding success of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Punjab Assembly elections, party leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal called it a revolution of change and reform. In this election, the public appreciated and supported Kejriwal for going prominently on issues like “Bhagat Singh, Ambedkar, Inquilab, Delhi model and I am not a terrorist” and presenting a new model of education-health and development.
He said that “first revolution took place in Delhi, then revolution happened in Punjab, then there will be revolution in the whole country”. The Chief Minister of Delhi said that “everyone was taking a stand against AAP. They used to say that Kejriwal is a terrorist. Countrymen said that Kejriwal is not a terrorist. He is a real patriot.”
The biggest weapon for the Aam Aadmi Party in the Punjab Assembly elections was the Delhi model of health and education. After the victory in Punjab, Kejriwal said, “Bhagat Singh once said that if we cannot change the system after independence, nothing will change. In the last 75 years, these parties and politicians maintained the same system as the British. He did not build any school and hospital. The Aam Aadmi Party changed the system in the last seven years.”
The CM of Delhi promised that he would fulfill the dreams of Bhagat Singh and Babasaheb Ambedkar. Said, “We all should take an oath that we will make a new India, where there will be no place for hatred. Where our mothers and sisters will be safe, where the rich and poor will get a good education.
Taking a jibe at the big leaders in this election, Kejriwal said that “big chairs have been shaken in Punjab. Sukhbir Singh Badal lost, Captain sir lost, Channi sir lost, Navjot Singh Sidhu lost.”
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the results in Goa and Punjab have made it clear that “the Kejriwal model of governance has now become national. The people of Punjab did not vote for AAP, rather they have given an opportunity to AAP.”
