Three boys drowned in Yamuna river near Delhi, one hospitalized


All the teenagers had descended into the river for Ganesh immersion, the dead bodies of the deceased teenagers have not been found yet

A painful accident has happened in Delhi’s Wazirabad Yamuna. Here three children drowned in the Yamuna river, while one child was saved. A child named Vijay Rathore has been taken out of the water and admitted to the hospital. The names of the children who died in the incident are Shivam, Vivek and Vijay. Shivam’s age was 12 years, Vivek’s age was 15 years and Vijay’s age was 17 years. Police said they received a PCR call at 5.30 pm. On getting information about the incident, the police immediately started relief and rescue operations.

Eight divers were engaged in the rescue operation that lasted till 9 am and two DF vehicles were deployed at the spot. However, till now the dead bodies of the children have not been found in the rescue operation. Police said that the children involved in Ganesh immersion could not guess the depth of the water and got washed away in the water flow. Another search operation will be conducted by the fire brigade to retrieve his dead body.

When he started shouting for help, some people present at the spot soon called the PCR, an official said. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning among the families of the deceased children. It is noteworthy that it has been raining in Delhi since morning. The capital has received the heaviest rain since 1944.
