With a massive victory in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the BJP is moving strongly towards forming the government for the second time. As the BJP crossed the majority mark, Yogi Adityanath was set to create history by becoming the first chief minister to return to power in the state after a five-year tenure. This is the first time after 1985 that any party has come to power again in UP. Adityanath, 49, is the most talked-about chief minister in the country, one of the BJP’s leading star campaigners beyond UP. With this victory, CM Yogi has also broken those myths which were not easy to see.
Since 1985, no leader in UP could become Chief Minister for two consecutive terms. During an interview, CM Yogi had also claimed that he would make a comeback and break that record. The Congress, which registered a thumping victory in the 1980 assembly elections, made a strong comeback in the 1985 elections as well. 37 years have passed since then but no government came again. CM Yogi seems to be breaking these myths with this victory of 2022.
Another myth has remained in the politics of UP for the last three decades. This was such a myth about which it is said that the chief minister who comes to Noida loses his chair. Actually, the myth about Noida has been made since 1988, when the then CM Veer Bahadur Singh came to Noida for the first time and lost the next election. After him Narayan Dutt Tiwari became the CM and came to Noida in 1989. But after some time his chair went away.
After this the same thing happened with Kalyan Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav that they came to Noida and lost the CM post. In 2011, Mayawati also came to Noida and in the next election, her government was gone. Akhilesh Yadav never came to Noida when he was CM, although still he could not repeat the government. CM Yogi visited Noida several times during his tenure and in this way he is seen breaking this myth as well.
Let us tell you that in the 2022 assembly elections, BJP is seen forming the government for the second time in a row with a thumping majority. BJP is leading on 274 seats while Samajwadi Party is in second place with 124 seats.
