After the election results in Uttarakhand, there is confusion about the twelfth Chief Minister of the state. It is not yet known who will replace Pushkar Singh Dhami. After losing the election from Khatima assembly constituency of Dhami, there is a debate in the BJP regarding the selection of the new Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, leaders like Satpal Maharaj, Dhan Singh Rawat, Madan Kaushik have submitted their claim for the chief minister’s post, while on the other hand, BJP MLA from Nainital parliamentary constituency and Union Minister of State for Defense and Tourism on Saturday Ajay Bhatt met BJP’s National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh. The names of Ajay Bhatt, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Anil Baluni, Ganesh Joshi are also in discussion for the Chief Minister.
On the other hand, three MLAs have asked to vacate their assembly seat for Pushkar Singh Dhami and demanded to make him the Chief Minister. Similarly, BJP MLA Braj Bhushan, who won the election from Doiwala for Trivendra Singh Rawat, talked about vacating his seat and demanded Rawat to be made the Chief Minister, while Trivendra Singh Rawat said that he is not in the race for Chief Minister and neither should he. Want to become chief minister. If he wanted to become the chief minister, why would he contest the assembly elections and send it in writing to the party high command that he did not want to contest.
On the other hand, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that he is not in the race for Chief Minister and whatever responsibility has been given to him by the party high command till date, he has done well. In this way, Nishank has not directly expressed his desire to become the Chief Minister, but he has not denied it.
According to sources, the BJP High Command is not in favor of making any Lok Sabha MP as the Chief Minister because the Lok Sabha elections are due in 2024 and in such a situation, the BJP High Command does not want to hold the Lok Sabha by-elections if the BJP High Command decides not to choose the Chief Minister from among the MLAs. The BJP can play the Brahmin card in the state by making Anil Baluni, a member of parliament, a great chief minister in the state.
According to sources, the BJP high command has appointed Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan as observers for the state who will take the opinion of the legislators and convey it to the party high command and the parliamentary board will finalize the chief minister’s name. It is believed that after Holi, the next Chief Minister of Uttarakhand will be declared because at present Holashtak has been started and auspicious work is not done in these Holashtak, the new Chief Minister will be administered oath after Holi.
