Vantara (Star of the Forest) program was launched on Monday by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. Under this umbrella initiative, rescue, care, protection and rehabilitation of injured and exploited animals will be carried out in India and abroad. Vantara will be operated in the 3000-acre green belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex. Here a forest like environment will be provided to the animals. Where the world’s biggest animal experts will take care of them.
Initiative started under the leadership of Anant Ambani
The Vantara initiative has been launched under the leadership of Anat Ambani, Board of Directors of RIL and Reliance Foundation. Vantara focuses on providing best-in-class animal conservation and care and includes state-of-the-art health care, hospitals, research and educational centres. Along with this, it also focuses on advanced research etc. and for this it has partnered with global organizations like IUCN and WWF.
On this occasion, Anant Ambani said that this was a profession for me in childhood, but now it has become a mission. We are working with our team at Vantara. Our focus is on protecting India’s critically endangered species. These efforts of ours are being recognized not only in India but also at the global level. This effort of wildlife conservation is also getting support from many medical experts of the world.
Animal hospitals were built
Elephant Center has been built by Reliance under Vantara. There are more than 200 elephants here, for whose care more than 500 employees have been hired. Along with this, an elephant hospital of 25,000 square feet with modern facilities has been built. There is also a special kitchen built in 14,000 square feet for elephants.
Apart from this, a rescue center has also been built. It is spread over 650 acres. Where endangered species will be taken care of and there is a staff of more than 2100 employees for this. Here also an animal hospital of one lakh square feet has been constructed. Where there are all modern facilities.
