The Russian currency ruble rose on Friday after suffering a steep fall in the previous trading session. The ruble, which hit an all-time low of 89.60 against the US dollar, rose 2.3 per cent to 83.30 today after orders to strike Ukraine last day. The ruble also strengthened against the euro.
Significantly, the Russian stock market also saw a sharp jump on Friday. The MoX index gained 23 per cent, while RTS also saw a rise of 28 per cent. Earlier on Thursday, there was huge volatility in the market and most of the stocks had fallen by up to 50 percent.
