Jaipur. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that road safety is not the responsibility of any one person, but of all of us. Every person should follow the transport rules, only then together road accidents can be prevented. He said that the state government’s priority is to bring down the road accidents and death rate in them. For this, the departmental officers should make the general public aware of the transport rules through various means. Also, take strict action against the violators.
Gehlot was addressing the review meeting of the Transport and Road Safety Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is determined to provide easy and safe transport to the people of the State. He directed to close the tax collection centers of the Transport Department and deposit the amount completely online by June 30. He said that more and more transport services should be made online to increase transparency in the works. The Chief Minister directed to make the process of issuing fitness certificates and licenses of vehicles more transparent. He said that not a single driving license is issued without taking the test, it should be ensured. Along with this, he provided guidelines for implementation of Electric Vehicle Policy and time bound implementation of CNG policy to promote e-vehicle.
Joint campaign against overloaded vehicles
Gehlot said that overloading and overspeeding of vehicles should be curbed in the state. For this, strict action should be taken by conducting a joint investigation campaign by the transport, police and related departments. Along with challan and seizure of vehicles, strict action should also be taken against the concerned vehicle owner, driver.
rural bus service will start soon
The Chief Minister said that the rural bus service had brought great relief to the people in rural areas. Now it will be started again soon. He said that the draft Road Safety Act has been prepared by the department. To make it better, suggestions should be invited from the public by uploading it on the public domain. He directed for early completion of budget announcements, announcements of policy documents.
Inspection will be stronger than 197 motor vehicle sub-inspectors and 50 vehicles
The Chief Minister said that the results of the recruitment process of 197 posts of Motor Vehicle Sub Inspector have come and 50 new vehicles are also being purchased. This will further strengthen the monitoring of vehicles by the Transport Department.
