India tour postponed
Biden government officials were scheduled to meet with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on the ‘US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies’ (ICET), among other issues. Sullivan has postponed his India tour for the second time this year. A US Embassy spokesperson said, “Due to the ongoing developments in West Asia, Sullivan has postponed his visit to India this week.”
Joe Biden will attend the Quad meeting
The US Embassy spokesperson said, “Sullivan is also committed to advancing our multi-dimensional partnership with India.” The spokesperson said US President Joe Biden is also eager to attend the next meeting of the Quad leaders. The meeting of Quad leaders was to be held in India in January this year. This meeting could not take place because Joe Biden could not come to India due to some reason.
Partnership between India and America is important
Recently Jake Sullivan had said that the partnership between India and America has reached new heights with cooperation in technology and other fields. Sullivan said this during a press conference at the White House. He had said, “The partnership between India and the US, the BRICS countries, has reached new heights due to cooperation in technology, security and many other areas.”
