New Delhi: These days the heat is continuously increasing in North India. The temperature has reached around 40 in many states. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and thundershowers in many states like Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh till April 4. The weather department has also predicted heat wave in many other states like Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka and Maharashtra during the same period.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain or snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during April 3 to 6. Light rain has been predicted in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during April 3 to 5.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of widespread rainfall or snowfall, storm and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh between April 1 and 4. Rain has also been predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim between April 1 and 4.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for many states for the next 5 days. There is a possibility of heat wave in different areas of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Karnataka during 2 to 4 April. Similar conditions have been predicted over Rayalaseema during April 1 to 4 and Telangana on April 1 and 2. Hot night conditions are likely to prevail over Odisha during April 2 to 4, Maharashtra during April 1 to 3, and Marathwada on April 1 and 2.
Weather during the next 24 hours
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snowfall may cause lightning in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning may occur in East Madhya Pradesh, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.
