21-year-old Yaryana Arieva and her 24-year-old partner Svyatoslav Fursin married in Kiev’s St. Michael’s Monastery amid Russian attacks

In the midst of all this, the soldiers of Ukraine are engaged in protecting the country by risking their lives for their country. Meanwhile, Ukrainian citizens Yarina Erieva and Svyatoslav Fursin got married just hours after Russia launched an invasion of their country. A couple were getting married in a church when Russian fighter jets were dropping bombs and missiles in Kiev. After the wedding, the newly wed couple spent their first day as a married couple collecting their rifles and getting ready to defend Ukraine.
Let us tell you that both Yarina Areva and Svyatoslav Fursin have joined the Territorial Defense Forces like other Ukrainian citizens after Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Yaryana Arieva, 21, and her partner Svyatoslav Fursin, 24, married at St. Michael’s Monastery in Kiev. When asked why they decided to get married in the atmosphere of war, the couple said that we do not know what our future will be. However, the couple had made all preparations to get married in May. The couple was to get married on May 6. Recalling that moment, the bride said – it was all very beautiful. It was just us, there was a river and there was beautiful light. We had planned the wedding with pomp, but on the morning of Thursday, February 24, everything changed when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a war against Ukraine.
Talking about the situation in the country, Arieva said – the people we love and the land we live on, we have to protect it. I am hoping everything will be fine, but I will do everything I can to protect my country. Arieva further said – The situation is very bad. We are going to fight for our country. We might even die. That’s why we wanted to be one before something like this happened.
