This number is expected to increase by 15 percent by 2025. That means India is becoming a hub of non-communicable diseases. Dr. Hemant P Thakar said that metabolic syndrome is mainly responsible for non-communicable diseases. Several bad conditions in the body together are called metabolic syndrome. This mainly includes heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes condition but it also includes obesity, high blood pressure, high uric acid, high blood sugar, high body fat, high lipids, high triglycerides, fatty liver, insulin resistance, apple shaped obesity. Factors like are responsible. Dr. Hemant Thakar told that the problem of apple shape body is the biggest in India, that is, fat near the stomach is a big problem. Apart from all this, diseases like chronic pulmonary disease, anemia, cancer, sleep disorder, arthritis, asthma also come in the category of non-communicable diseases. These diseases are not transmitted by any other person but by the person himself. Nowadays, cases of Alzheimer’s and dementia are also increasing rapidly. Our unhealthy lifestyle is the biggest villain for all this.
Other reasons also responsible
Dr. Hemant Thakar said that certainly environment, pollution, social factors, genes can also be responsible for this, but our lifestyle is also responsible for increasing it. He said that suppose we have heart disease in our genes but how we nurture this gene is very important. If you have an unhealthy lifestyle then this gene will get nurtured and progress but if your lifestyle is very good then the risk of it progressing is very less.
Then how to improve lifestyle
Dr. Hemant P Thakar says that it is very easy to improve it. Decide that from today onwards you will have to live an unhealthy lifestyle. For this, first of all sleep early in the night and get adequate and peaceful sleep. Get up early in the morning and walk regularly. After this, do not eat anything bad throughout the day. Do not consume fast food, processed food, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco in any form. Do not consume too much packaged food or fried food. Take pure diet. The more green leafy vegetables, fruits and whole grains you consume in your diet, the less risk there will be from these diseases. After this, stress is a big problem for today’s youth, so take help of yoga, meditation etc. for this.
