New Delhi. Pakistan’s team is out of the T20 World Cup 2024. After losing to America in the Super Over, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan team was in a do-or-die situation before entering the match against India. When Team India gave a target of just 120 runs, it seemed as if Pakistan was given this match on a platter. Despite this, the Pak team failed to register a win. Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim holds himself responsible for the team’s defeat in this match.
Imad Wasim said, ‘The game plan was that we had to take it till the end. The wicket was not good to play on. It was a bit difficult wicket. My game plan was going well, but unfortunately I was not able to execute it. Because usually when I bat, I take the game deep. If I had hit a boundary on both ends while batting, the game would have been different. Usually under pressure, the bowler gives you a ball on which you can hit a boundary, but he did not do so. I was taking the game till the end because I was expecting that a new batsman would not be able to come and hit a shot. So Naseem hit two good shots.

I regret it…
Imad further said, I think scoring runs in the 17th over was a turning point. It is unfortunate that it did not happen, it is an event but it was a big match. Our team and I are more disappointed than you guys (media). I disappointed the team, because usually when I go into this situation I stay very calm and finish my job. It was my job which I could not complete. I regret it and will always regret it. This is life and sometimes you make mistakes.
