The entire country is waiting to see the Bullet Train running on the tracks. First of all, while giving information regarding the route, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train will start running on the tracks in 2026. The Union Minister said that India’s first bullet train will be ready in 2026 and will run on a section from Surat. He said significant progress has been made in the construction of the stations and work on the sea tunnel has started. The train will reach Mumbai from Thane through this tunnel. Railway Minister shared a video of Mumbai-Ahmedabad ‘Bullet Train’ corridor.
Distance of 508 kilometers in just 2 hours
According to the news, with the commencement of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor, the travel time for the 508 kilometer distance between the two cities will reduce to just 2 hours. In the video shared on social media platform X, some special features of the state-of-the-art train project being built with an investment of Rs 1.08 lakh crore have been discussed. The maximum speed of the bullet train on this route is expected to be 320 kilometers per hour. The corridor will feature a slab track system, a technology that will be used for the first time in India.
The train will also pass through a 7 km long undersea tunnel.
24 bridges and seven mountain tunnels are being built for the bullet train route. The corridor will also have a 7 km long undersea tunnel. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited is continuously working on this construction. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train corridor will have stations at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane and Mumbai. According to the Railway Ministry, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is India’s only approved high-speed rail project, the implementation of which is being assisted by the Japanese government. The operations control center for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor will be located at Sabarmati.
