Nagpur Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra remains in discussion in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Bharatiya Janata Party has given ticket to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari here for the third consecutive time. At the same time, Congress has fielded Vikas Thackeray in the election field. Looking at the current equations, Gadkari’s victory can be considered, but this fight will not be so easy for him. Voting is to be held in the first phase in Nagpur and on April 19, the fate of Vikas along with Gadkari will also be captured in EVMs.
Nitin Gadkari is seeking votes on the basis of his work and is confident of victory. Health services and roads in the city are good and Gadkari has also provided free treatment to many people. To find a solution to this, Congress candidates say that the temperature of the city has increased due to cement roads.
History of Nagpur seat
From 1951 to 1966, this seat was in the account of Congress. Lotus bloomed here for the first time in 1996 when two-time Congress MP Banwari Lal Purohit changed sides and contested elections from BJP. Madhav Srihari Ane has been an independent MLA from here and All India Forward Bloc has also won once. In 2014, Nitin Gadkari won from here and became MP for the second time. Now he has made complete preparations for the hat-trick.
What are caste equations?
Due to the movement of Manoj Jarange Patil, certificates have been distributed to a large number of Marathas and they have become a part of the Kunbi society. Kunbi community is angry with this, which can benefit the Congress candidate. Here 4.5 lakh migrant voters play an important role. However, all sections have benefited from Gadkari’s work. Being the headquarters of the Sangh, the atmosphere remains in favor of BJP. For this reason also, Gadkari’s victory is being considered. There are six assembly seats under Nagpur seat. Of these, four are held by BJP and two by Congress. In this respect also the equations are in favor of BJP.
