Team India’s star batsman KL Rahul is as disciplined on the field as he is, his diet is equally strict and planned. Rahul, who is busy with the Test series against South Africa, recently shared his entire day’s diet plan. He explained in detail what he eats for breakfast, what he eats for lunch and what he includes for dinner. This diet plan of Rahul will surprise you how precise and balanced his eating is.
What does he eat for breakfast?
During an interview on Jatin Sapru’s show, “Like an Athlete”, Rahul revealed that his morning starts almost the same every day: Dosa and Anda Bhuji. Rahul told that if he is at home, he eats dosa six days a week. His breakfast includes four eggs. To fulfill both carbohydrates and proteins, he also eats bananas, pomegranates and other fruits. Obviously, Rahul provides his body with plenty of energy and nutrition right from the beginning of the day.
Lunch – Indian food is a must wherever you are
The most interesting part of KL Rahul’s diet is his lunch. He clearly told that wherever we are in the world, Indians definitely eat food in the afternoon. They maintain a balance of carbohydrates and proteins in their lunch.
On normal days: 150 grams rice
On match/training days: 200 grams rice
Additionally, they consume 200-250 grams of protein, mostly seafood. They also sometimes eat mutton. Rahul also eats 150-200 grams of green vegetables in lunch, be it beans curry or any other vegetable. Green vegetables are an important part of their diet.
Dinner – same as lunch, but lighter
Rahul’s dinner is almost the same as lunch, except the quantities are reduced: protein, some carbohydrates and some vegetables. They prefer to eat light at night so that the body can recover better and be ready for the next day’s training.
Why is this diet special?
Rahul’s diet plan clearly shows that he is very serious about his fitness. Their diet includes balanced nutrition, precise amounts and daily changes as per the needs of the body. Ahead of the second Test in Guwahati, Rahul looks to be fully fit, and perhaps this strict diet is the key to his consistency.
