Gita Jayanti 2025: Geeta's teachings will teach better work-life balance, know how to balance life and work

In today’s busy life, work-life balance is very important for every person. Amidst the increasing work pressure, stress, competition and digital distraction, maintaining mental balance and giving time to personal life is no less difficult for many people.

The teachings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, based on the Mahabharata, are also a guide for today’s life. More than five thousand years ago, Lord Krishna gave the teachings of the Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, and these teachings are equally relevant today. Furthermore, Bhagavad Gita is the only religious scripture in Hinduism whose birth anniversary is celebrated. Geeta Jayanti falls on the Ekadashi tithi (eleventh day) of Margashirsha Shukla Paksha, which this year falls on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The first sutra of Geeta is “Selfless action.”

This means, focus on your work and don’t worry about the results. Most workplace stress comes from expectations. When a person puts his heart and soul into his work and stops worrying about the results, mental stress automatically reduces. This also improves the quality of work and keeps the mind calm.

Second sutra: “equanimity”

Accepting both success and failure equally. Today’s professional life is full of ups and downs for everyone. It is impossible for every project to be successful, every deal to be profitable, every effort to be successful. Therefore, Geeta teaches that one should remain calm no matter what the outcome.

Third Sutra: “Mind Control”

In the digital age, notifications, phone calls, chats, videos, meetings and social media destabilize the mind. According to Geeta, life becomes easy for those who have controlled the mind. This means full focus on work and spending time with family at home. This principle is the most effective formula for work-life balance.
