If you feel like making a special puri different from the traditional puri, then you can make special puri by mixing Rajgira flour and banana. The flour of Rajgire is also known as amaranth flour in many places. These are small seeds, which are planted on the amaranth plant. When these seeds are ripe, the plants are cut and pulled out. Rajgira can be used as a gluten free diet. Gluten is found naturally in wheat, rye and barley. So it is a very nutritious dish. Being a banana, there is no need to add sugar to it.
Ingredients for making Banana Puri-
2 cups Rajgira flour
1 raw banana (mashed)
rock salt as per taste
2 tbsp ghee
peanut oil
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp ginger and green chili paste
as needed
water as needed
How to make Banana Pudi –
In a bowl add rajgira flour, mashed banana and mix well. Now add rock salt, ginger-green chili paste, cumin and ghee and mix it. Now gradually add water and knead a soft dough. Put peanut oil in a pan on medium heat to heat. Now during this, break the dough balls and roll them into rounds. After heating the oil, now put the puris in it and fry them till they turn brown. Rajgire-Banana puri is ready. You can eat it with potato curry.
