Government’s big decision on Aadhaar card, now Aadhaar will be updated in pinch, UIDAI’s new mobile app will create a boom

After the e-Aadhaar and free biometric update, the central government has taken another major decision regarding the Aadhaar card. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has announced that a new Aadhaar app will be launched soon. The demo test of the app has been successful. This mobile app can now be launched anytime, which will benefit users many facilities related to Aadhaar.

This special facility will be available in mobile app

UIDAI CEO Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that after the launch of the mobile app, people will no longer need to keep photocopy of Aadhaar card in their pocket or purse. This app, DKS, will be launched in the next two to three months. This app will have a mobile update feature as well as a unique identity sharing facility, but sharing information will only be possible with the permission of the user.

The mobile number connected to the Aadhaar card cannot be changed through the app. For this, users have to go to the base center. Mobile number will be updated through biometric authentication. To identify the fake Aadhaar card, there is a quick response code (QR code) above the Aadhaar card, which can be scanned and obtained the correct information.

Biometric updates can be done on free

Significantly, people can now get biometric updates free of cost of their Aadhaar cards. Earlier its price was ₹ 50, but after the new order it will now be free. Free biometric updates are for children and adolescents. Children and adolescents will no longer have to pay any fee for new registration and biometric updates of their Aadhaar cards. The new order is applicable to children and teenagers aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years old.

How to get your base biometric updated?

To get your Aadhaar card biometric update, visit a contact center. The close contact center can be found on the official website of UIDAI or the MAADHAAR app. Go to the center, take the form, fill the related information and provide biometric data, such as fingerprint and iris scan, after which biometric updates will be completed.
