IRCTC is all set to run a special ‘Bharat Gaurav’ tourist train for pilgrims who want to visit major religious places like Jagannath Puri, Gangasagar, Gaya, Varanasi and Ayodhya. The journey will commence from Indore on September 15, 2026 and will take the pilgrims to many famous pilgrimage sites across the country in 11 days. The itinerary includes Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri; Kali Mata Temple and Gangasagar in Kolkata; Vishnupad Temple in Gaya; Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga in Varanasi; And includes a visit to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.
Where will the journey start?
This special train will run from Indore and will also stop at stations like Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamlapati, Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur and Katni on the way. Sleeper, 3AC and 2AC class options are available for this journey of 10 nights and 11 days. As per the schedule, the train will reach Puri on September 17, where passengers will visit Jagannath Temple. After this the yatra will proceed to Kolkata and Gangasagar. After an overnight stay at Gangasagar, the pilgrims will visit the Kali Temple in Kolkata. Then the train will reach Gaya, where you will get a chance to visit Vishnupad Temple. The next stops will include Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and then Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. The train will return to Indore on September 25, completing the journey.
What is the price?
Package prices vary depending on the category. The per person fare has been fixed at ₹19,600 for sleeper category, ₹31,850 for 3AC and ₹41,900 for 2AC. This fare includes a discount of approximately 33% under the ‘Bharat Gaurav’ train scheme of Indian Railways.
What features are included in it? This tour package includes train travel, breakfast, lunch and dinner, hotel accommodation, local transport, two liter water bottle daily, tour escort, security arrangements and travel insurance. Due to limited availability of infrastructure at Gangasagar, all categories of passengers will be provided multi-sharing rooms and standard transport facilities. However, personal expenses, medicines, laundry, special darshan tickets, camera fees, porter service, boat rides, adventure activities, tour guides and other personal services are not included in the package.
