Jaipur. Kanodia P.G. World Ozone Day was organized by the Women’s College, Jaipur Geography Department in collaboration with “Mother Earth Project”. Under the theme ‘Global Science to Global Action’ this year, the students were made aware of the importance of environmental protection and safety of the ozone layer. College Principal Dr. Seema Aggarwal, while addressing the students, highlighted the need for the dangers arising from the erosion of the ozone layer and the need for collective efforts for its protection. He said that the foundation of safe and green future for the coming generations can be laid only through today’s thinking and today’s efforts. Laxmi Saxena, director of Mother Earth Project, was present in the program. He inspired the students to fulfill their responsibility towards nature and environment. The program was organized under the direction of Dr. Neelam Bageshwari, Head of the Department of Geography. The students were given detailed information about scientific approach, global initiative and local measures. The speakers shared ideas on the challenges of climate change, ozone layer erosion and holding development. The special attraction of the program was “Parachute Painting Activity” and poster presentation. The students put their imagination, creativity and social messages on parachutes and posters. These paintings clearly showed a glimpse of the green future, clean environment and resolve to protect the ozone layer and presented innovative views for environmental protection. Dr. Ankita Gupta, Dr. Sheelu, Dr. Renu Shaktawat played the role in the program. 78 girl students participated in the program.
