New Delhi . The Central District Police conducted a continuous 48-hour intensive and effective operation in the entire district under ‘Operation Kavach 13.0’. This campaign ran continuously from 6 pm on 29 March to 6 pm on 31 March. The main objective of this operation was to deal a decisive blow to the criminals, drug smugglers, illicit liquor traders, gamblers, arms holders and other anti-social elements operating in the district. In this operation, drug smugglers, smugglers of illicit liquor, illegal arms holders, gamblers, those committing crimes under BNSS, violators of DP Act, COTPA violators and other anti-social elements were targeted. Through this, a decisive blow was dealt to the crime network operating in the district. The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh (IPS), in which all 15 police stations, 1 cyber police station and special units (Special Staff, Anti-Narcotics Cell, AATS and Technical Surveillance Units) actively participated.
A total of 110 dedicated teams were deployed. These teams conducted 283 raids based on intelligence inputs in identified hotspots, slum areas, industrial areas, liquor supply routes, suspected hideouts, isolated areas, night crime areas and sensitive areas. Special staff, ANC, AATS and technical surveillance units played a vital role in intelligence gathering and providing real-time operational support, ensuring swift and effective response on the ground.
The operation involved round-the-clock naka checking, mobile patrolling, human and technical intelligence-based surveillance, seamless coordination between SHOs and special units, containment of hotspots, simultaneous raids at multiple locations with precise planning, ground offensive deployment with zero response time, integrated cyber and ground intelligence coordination, continuous surveillance of repeat offenders and high-risk criminals and real-time command and control.
During this period, a total of 452 people were arrested and 1,930 people were detained. Apart from this, 469 challans were also issued. Strict action was also taken in cases of narcotics and illicit liquor. 37 cases were registered under the NDPS Act, 59 people were arrested and 14.62391 kg of ganja, 0.306 kg of heroin and 0.63371 kg of smack were seized. Apart from this, 23 foil pipes and Rs 5,260 in cash were also seized.
In cases of illicit liquor, 13 cases were registered and 996 bottles of illicit liquor were seized. 12 people were arrested in arms possession cases, from whom 10 knives, 2 pistols, 3 live cartridges, 1 mobile and 1 scooter were recovered. Strict action was also taken against gamblers, in which 41 people were caught and Rs 34,210 in cash was seized. In vehicle theft cases, 5 vehicles including 4 accused were recovered. Meanwhile, in other action, 4 declared criminals were arrested and 200 persons were arrested under sections 40A and 40B.
