New Delhi. An exclusive B2B networking event “Nepal Destination Wedding and Online Travel Agent (OTA) Connect” was organized by Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) in collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Embassy in New Delhi late last night in New Delhi. The objective of this event was to provide an excellent platform for destination wedding, tourism and hospitality partnerships in Nepal. More than 90 industry experts participated in the evening, including 21 special delegates from Nepal. Also in attendance were renowned hotel owners and hospitality professionals – as well as around 45 wedding planners and OTAs from across India. The program started with formal welcome and lighting of the lamp, after which the chief guests presented their views. Which included Binayak Shah (President, Hotel Association Nepal), Dr. Surendra Thapa (Minister/DCM, Nepal Embassy), and Laxman Gautam (Director, Nepal Tourism Board). Among the big names of the industry, Neeraj Dhawan (Founding President, Indian Wedding Industry Association) attended the program. Highlighting the potential of destination weddings, HAN Senior Vice President Prabeen Bahadur Pandey promised to organize such events in the coming years and also thanked all the participants. Tech Bahadur Mahat from HAN, in a special presentation “Nepal’s Destination Wedding Properties Profile” highlighted the growing popularity of all the unique and beautiful wedding destinations of Nepal. Representatives from renowned hospitality brands—including The Solti Kathmandu, Hotel Himalaya, The Everest Hotel, Hotel Yak & Yeti, Barahi Hospitality & Leisure, Lemon Tree Premier, Dusit Thani, Hotel Aloft Kathmandu, Chandragiri Hills Resort, Hotel Royal Tulip Kathmandu, Rupakot Resort, Gokarna Forest Resort, The Terraces, Hotel Crown Imperial, Village Highland Resort, Manakamana Hill Crest Resort, Hotel Mercure, Kathmandu Guest House, Dreamland Gold Resort, Pokhara Village & Spa, and Asian Buddha Hotel were present at the event, presenting their services and facilities and interacting directly with event and wedding partners in India. This structured networking session provided opportunities for fruitful interaction and collaboration between Nepalese hotel owners and Indian wedding planners and OTAs. The evening concluded with a deepening of business relationships and cultural exchange.
This initiative successfully established Nepal as a preferred destination for wedding and experiential travel, and also strengthened cross-border tourism partnerships between India and Nepal.
