Dubai, 15 September (). Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav on Sunday dedicated the major victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 to the army personnel showing bravery during Operation Sindoor. The Indian captain also committed to standing firmly with the families of the victims in the Pahalgam terror attack.
Suryakumar Yadav’s birthday, a big win against Pakistan and his finisher innings in it. The match day was very memorable for the Indian captain. When he came for the award ceremony after the match, Sanjay Manjrekar welcomed him saying ‘Happy Birthday’.
Amidst the birthday slogans, the Indian captain said, “India looks good by giving a return gift. We were thinking of winning such a win. I wanted to stop till the end. This match was just like a match for us. We prepare for all the opponents. We won the Champions Trophy with this mentality.”
Suryakumar Yadav said, “This is the right time and I just want to say something. We stand firmly with the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and express their solidarity. Want to dedicate this victory to all his armed forces, who showed a lot of bravery. Hopefully they will continue to motivate all of us and we will give them the reason for the smile.”
Left -arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was declared the best player of the match. Kuldeep took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.
Talking about the match, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan could score 127 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Pakistan, Sahibzada Farhan scored 40 and Shaheen Afridi scored 33 not out.
Apart from Kuldeep Yadav for India, Akshar Patel took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs and Varun Chakraborty took 1 wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya took 1 wicket for 34 runs in 4 overs.
For the Indian team, chasing the target of 128 runs from Pakistan, Abhishek Sharma made a big debut and showed Shaheen Afridi his class by hitting a four off the first two balls and sixes. Sharma scored 31 runs off 13 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. Gill was dismissed for 10 off 7 balls, Tilak Verma 31 off 31 balls. For India, captain Surya Kumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls and finished the match. He won the six continuously. Shivam Dubey remained unbeaten on 10 runs. The Indian team won the match by 7 wickets by scoring 131 runs for 3 wickets in 15.5 overs.
