Supaul, April 19 (). There is relief news for the electricity consumers of Supaul district of Bihar. A one-day solar fair will be organized by the Electricity Department on April 20 from 10 am in the Electricity Office premises located at Degree College Chowk. The main objective of this fair is to make the common people aware about solar energy and to inform them about the measures to get relief from rising electricity bills.

On this occasion, detailed information will be given about the “Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme” of the Central Government. According to departmental officials, under this scheme, consumers can significantly reduce electricity expenses by installing solar panels on the roof of their houses. Due to the subsidy given by the government, installing a solar system has become much cheaper and more accessible than before.

A team of experts in the solar energy sector will be present in the fair, who will explain to the consumers every information related to the cost of solar panels, selection of suitable capacity for their home, installation process, maintenance and possible savings in a simple manner. People will also be told how they can avail government subsidies and what is the application process.

The special thing is that interested consumers will be able to apply on-the-spot for the scheme at the fair itself. Information about the documents required for this will also be given on the spot, so that people do not have to face any kind of problem.

The Electricity Department has appealed to all the electricity consumers of the district to participate in this solar fair in maximum numbers and take advantage of this scheme. Officials say that this initiative will not only be helpful in reducing people’s electricity bills, but will also prove to be an important step towards promoting clean and green energy.

Speaking to news agency , Electricity Department official Alok Kumar Ranjan said, “A solar fair is being organized to promote the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. In this fair, consumers will be made aware of the scheme. Detailed information related to the subsidy will be given and they will also be able to apply on the spot.”

He said that subsidy is being given in this by the government. There is different subsidy for each watt. For application, one should have mobile number, electricity bill, house paper and bank related documents. By adopting solar energy, not only economic savings are possible but also participation of common people in environmental protection can be ensured. In such a situation, this fair is emerging as an important medium of both awareness and convenience.
