Jhalawar A review meeting of activities being held for prevention of child marriage in the district was held on Tuesday in the auditorium of Mini Secretariat under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector Abhishek Charan.
While reviewing the work done for the prevention of child marriage in the district, Additional District Collector said that apart from special occasions like Akshaya Tritiya, Peepal Purnima, the work of stopping child marriage should be done by campaigning during other special opportunities.
He said that various support groups, women groups, health workers, Anganwadi workers, women safety Sakhi, Sathin, Sahyogini, including village development officers and other concerned people should be prohibited from working to work for prevention of child marriage. Also, in the gram sabhas, collectively discuss the side effects of child marriage and the necessary discussion. He said that taking strict action against every person who contributes to child marriage and involved, the proceedings of the FIR should also be implemented so that the practice of child marriage can be prevented.
During this time, Sub Divisional Officer Bhawanimandi Shraddha Gomegia said to prevent child marriage, to prevent child marriage 1098, Rajasthan Sampark Portal 181 call center and police control room numbers. During this, Purnima Sikarwar, a member of the Child Welfare Committee, suggested regarding the prevention of child marriage and said that the public representatives concerned in rural areas should also be urged to spread awareness and remain active for prevention of child marriage.
In the meeting, Surendra Kumar Poonia, Assistant Director of District Child Protection Unit and Child Empowerment Department, informed about the programs and activities being organized for the prevention of child marriage. At the same time, he asked the concerned officials to upload the activities organized on the respective portal and publicize it. He informed that in the year 2024-25, 36 cases of 36 and in the year 2025-26 have received a total of 20 child marriages, which have been disposed of by mutual explanation and ban. During this time, posters prepared for awareness of contact formula for the ill effects of child marriage and prevention were also released. Also, the officers present, NGO representatives etc. were administered an oath to prevent child marriage.
The meeting was attended by subdivision officer Manorathana Ramkumar Verma, Chief District Education Officer Ramsingh Meena, Deputy Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department Ramnivas Yadav, Child Welfare Committee member Babli Meena, Tehsildar Manorathana Madholal Bairwa, Naib Tehsildar Asnavar Ajay Kumar Paliwal, Protection Officer of Child Empowerment Department Vishnu Kumar and representatives of various self -related officers were present.
