Gangtok. Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoyed playing football with local teenage boys and girls on Tuesday morning in Gangtok during his visit to Sikkim. During this, while talking to young players, PM Modi said that India is trying to get the hosting of the Olympics. All of you be ready. The Prime Minister has shared the video of his conversation with young players on his X account. In the video, the PM says, “Will you teach me to play football? It is not that you will defeat me.”
PM told a child that you can become a good coach.
The Prime Minister further said, “Mere practice is not enough to play. There should be matches. This is how we learn. It creates passion in us. We have to make it popular in the coming days. You must be aware that India is trying to get the hosting of the Olympics. By that time, you will become mature players. Therefore, all of you should try to do better from now on and make your preparation with the aim of playing the Olympics.”
PM Modi was seen playing football with children and scored many goals while passing the ball among the players.
Earlier, while sharing some pictures on his X account, the PM had written, “A lovely morning in Gangtok, the fun of playing football with my little friends in Sikkim is something else.”
In another post he wrote, “A tremendous session of football with these youngsters.”
The Prime Minister also gave his autograph on the football to the players.
PM reached Gangtok on the evening of 27 April. His Tuesday schedule is going to be very busy. After spending time with the children, the Prime Minister will visit the Orchidarium in Gangtok. He will participate in the closing ceremony of the celebrations of the 50th year of statehood of Sikkim at Paljor Stadium, where he will inaugurate, launch and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 4,000 crore across the state. He will also address the gathering on this occasion.
These projects cover a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, power, urban development, environment, tourism and agriculture, and are aimed at accelerating overall and inclusive development in Sikkim.
