The Duchess of Cambridge is the only hope of saving the monarchy amid scandal and crisis, an insider claims.
According to Patrick Jephson, Princess Diana’s former chief of staff, the future of the royal family is in Kate Middleton’s hands.
Jephson shared her knowledge of the royal family, claiming that the monarchy is counting on Prince William’s wife to save the family’s reputation amid the ongoing scandals and crisis within the family.
“As the Prince Andrew scandal shows, the monarchy desperately needs to reassure traditional royal actors,” Jephson told The Post.
The former chief of staff to Princess Diana believes that “Catherine is just the kind of person who can handle everything in these troubled times. It is no exaggeration that the future of the Windsors is in her hands.”
Undoubtedly, the royal family is facing its toughest time yet, following the announcement that Prince Andrew will spend the rest of his life in the woods after being stripped of his military titles amid a sexual assault lawsuit by his mother, Queen Elizabeth.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also haven’t been shy about sharing the inside story about the royal family in their high-profile interviews.
“Monarchy is the ultimate long game… because unlike business, politics or media stardom, royalty is for life and its time horizons are infinite,” Jephson said. “Catherine has mastered that long game and that is a very significant achievement.”
Kate Middleton, who officially entered royal life after tying the knot with Prince William in 2011. Will become queen after William ascends the throne. But first she will be Princess of Wales when her father-in-law Charles becomes king.
Now, a few senior royals and a small team of advisers are focused on shaping Kate’s legacy.
“As the Prince Andrew scandal shows, the monarchy desperately needs to reassure traditional royal actors,” Patrick Jephson, the former chief of staff to Kate’s mother-in-law Princess Diana, told The Post exclusively.
She and William are much more popular than the next king, Prince Charles and his second wife, Camilla.
“Charles and Camilla do not have global traction and there appears to be a complete campaign to make William and Kate the global stars of the family,” said Holt, author of “The Duchess of Cambridge: Edict of Modern Royal Style.”
“There seems to be a whole royal family campaign to elevate the Cambridges.”
A senior palace source said: “If Charles and Diana had left, we wouldn’t be talking like this. Because Charles and Camilla put their needs and happiness first. We are in an ongoing constitutional bond, which means William and Kate are the Windsors’ last hope.”
It remains to be seen how Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be viewed if Charles becomes king, but Kate will be given the title of Princess of Wales. Just like Diana once was.
Of course, the goal is also to highlight the differences between Kate and her sister-in-law, Markle.
Kate officially entered royal life by marrying William on April 29, 2011. The couple now have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
As the wife and mother of the future king, the duchess’s role in the monarchy has never been more important. Her handling of various royal crises in recent months shows that Kate is rapidly emerging as a ruler.
