Now a new petition on the name plate dispute in the Kanwar Yatra route, said in the Supreme Court, giving political color...

New Delhi. The owners of all the food shops on the Kanwar Yatra route were ordered to write their names and the names of their employees clearly. But later the Supreme Court stayed this order and sought a reply from the UP-Uttarakhand governments. This will be heard after a few days. Meanwhile, a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court. This petition is in support of writing the names of shopkeepers outside the shops. Many arguments have been given in it.

Petitioner Surjeet Singh Yadav says that the order to install nameplates has been given keeping in mind the convenience of Shiv bhakts, their faith and maintaining law and order, but in the petitions filed in the court, an attempt has been made to unnecessarily give it a communal colour. The petitioners who have filed the petition in the court on this issue are not shopkeepers, but those who want to give it a political colour. Citing the fundamental rights of Shiv bhakts, the petitioner has demanded that he be made a party to the issue and his side be heard.

Not UP, Haryana, Rajasthan… This state government has built the country’s largest Kanwar camp, 20,000 Shiva devotees will be able to stay

Earlier, the Supreme Court had said that no one will be forced to write their name till the next hearing in the case. Then the Supreme Court had also asked whether this is voluntary. It is not mandatory. Then Singhvi had replied that he is saying that this is voluntary, but it is being done forcibly. Action is being taken against those who are not agreeing. The court had expressed displeasure over this and immediately put a stay on it.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad had said that this decision will affect the morale of the people. VHP General Secretary Bajrang Bagda said, ‘The Hon’ble Supreme Court has put an interim stay on the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government regarding displaying the identity of the owners or operators of dhabas and other eateries on the route of Kanwar pilgrims. This has lowered the morale of the Hindu community, Hindu devotees and those doing the Kanwar Yatra.’
