12 years of trust, development and public welfare: Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel enumerated the achievements of Modi government

Gandhinagar, June 12 (IANS). On the occasion of completion of 12 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat BJP organized a special program under the ’12 Years of Trust, Development and People’s Welfare’ campaign. On this occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the achievements of the Central Government and said that in the last 12 years the country has written a new chapter of development, good governance and public welfare.

The Chief Minister said that by becoming the patron of 74 lakh street vendors of the country, Prime Minister Modi has worked to make them self-reliant. Under PM Swanidhi Yojana, loans worth more than Rs 17,000 crore were provided to street vendors. Under the Mudra scheme, loans worth more than Rs 16 lakh crore have been given to women entrepreneurs.

He said that through Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a large number of accounts have been opened to secure the future of daughters. 46 percent women have benefited from PM Swanidhi Yojana. More than 58 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened across the country, out of which more than 32 crore accounts are of women.

Bhupendra Patel said that Ujjwala scheme has provided relief to crores of women from diseases caused by kitchen smoke. More than 10 crore women have been given gas connections. He said that the government aims to make more than 3 crore women ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and make more than 91 lakh self-help groups self-reliant. Also, 33 percent participation of women will be ensured through Nari Shakti Vandan Act.

The Chief Minister also mentioned the initiatives of the Central Government for the tribal society. He said that the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda was celebrated at the national level and under ‘Dharti Aaba Tribal Utkarsh Abhiyan’, work is being done on the development of more than 5 crore tribals in 33,000 villages. Over Rs 24,000 crore has been invested for the development of tribal areas and the tribal welfare budget has increased by 243 per cent.

He said that today areas like Sanand and Dholera are developing rapidly in Gujarat. The country’s first high-speed bullet train project is going to start from Gujarat. A high-speed rail project worth Rs 20,000 crore has been approved to accelerate the development of Dholera.

CM Bhupendra Patel said that schemes like Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat have given a dignified life to the poor. The benefits of the schemes are being delivered to the people in a transparent manner through digital technology and direct benefit transfer. He said that India has today become the world’s largest digital payment system with more than 66 crore UPI transactions per day.

The Chief Minister said that in 2014, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the direction of the country’s politics changed and development-oriented politics got a new identity. He said that today not only India but the world has accepted Prime Minister Modi as a global leader.
