New Delhi, January 25 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen through the 130th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday. In this program he talked about many issues including the journey of Start Up India, the growing economy of the country. Let’s take a look at 10 important points of the programme.

Referring to Republic Day at the beginning of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi said that we all will celebrate Republic Day on 26 January, on this day our Constitution came into force. This day of 26th January gives us an opportunity to salute the makers of our Constitution.

Recalling the journey of Startup India, PM Modi said that 10 years ago in 2016, we started Startup India. The innovations made by the youth of the country for this are being recorded in history. The world’s third largest startup ecosystem is being formed in India. Indian startups are working in many sectors ranging from AI, space, nuclear energy, semiconductor. He said that I salute all those youth who are associated with startups or want to start them.

Talking about the growing economy of the country, PM Modi said that the country’s economy is growing rapidly. In such a situation, it is our responsibility to emphasize on quality. Let us focus on giving importance to quality with all our might. Resolve to improve the quality. The hallmark of our Indian products should be quality.

Talking about public participation, Prime Minister Modi said that finding solutions to problems is in the blood of the countrymen. Some people do it through startups and some through collective participation of the society. One such effort was seen in Azamgarh, UP, where the local people have given new life to the Tamsa River. Similarly, to overcome the water shortage in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the local people set a target to clean the reservoirs and then with the cooperation of the administration, the Ananta Neerun Conservation Project was started. Under this effort, more than 10 reservoirs have got the lease of life.

Talking about the popularity of bhajan clubbing among Gen Z, PM Modi said that today’s youth have adapted devotion into their lifestyle. Youth are gathering, music is happening. Bhajans are being sung with devotion in the concert. This is being called Bhajan Clubbing, which is becoming popular among Gen Z.

Referring to the country’s festivals being celebrated in different corners of the world, he said that our culture and festivals are making their mark across the world. Indian festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety all over the world. The people of the country are preserving and carrying forward the basic spirit of their culture even abroad. There are more than 500 Tamil schools in Malaysia where along with the study of Tamil language, other subjects are also taught in Tamil.

Regarding National Voters’ Day, PM Modi said that voters are the soul of democracy. Generally, when someone turns 18 and becomes a voter, it is considered a normal milestone in life. But, this occasion is a big milestone in the life of any Indian. PM Modi appealed and said that it is very important that we celebrate becoming voters in the country.

Referring to millets in Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi said that people’s love for millets is continuously increasing. We had declared 2023 as the year of millet, but today, three years later, the passion for it is encouraging. There are many temples which use only millet in their offerings. Millet sets an example of improving the health of people along with increasing the income of farmers.

Referring to the participation of youth towards cleanliness, he said that the youth of our country are conscious about cleanliness. A group of youth in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh came together to clean areas where it was needed. The youth launched campaigns in many areas and so far have cleaned more than 11 lakh kg of garbage. Some professionals in Bengaluru are solving ‘sofa waste’. One such team in Chennai has done excellent work.

Referring to environmental protection with an example, he said that Bainoi Das, a resident of Cooch Behar, West Bengal, planted thousands of trees with his own money. Now greenery has increased a lot in the area. This same feeling of environmental protection is visible on a larger scale as well. Under this thinking, a campaign is being run in the name of Mother Tree. Till now more than 200 crore trees have been planted in the country. People of our country are now more aware about the environment.
