Chandigarh, July 19 (IANS). Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has congratulated and congratulated the students who have cleared the NEET exam in the state. Along with this, he has described the Punjab education revolution as a great achievement.
Bhagwant Mann wrote in a post on social media platform Ek, “Great achievement of Punjab Education Revolution! 881 students of government schools of Punjab have created a new history by passing NEET this year. In 2024 this number was 437. This success is the result of education revolution, hard work of teachers and dedication of the students. Hearty congratulations to all the successful students, their parents and teachers!”
Earlier, he congratulated Ludhiana student Aryan Gupta who secured ‘All India Rank 1’ in NEET-UG examination. Maan wrote in his post that many congratulations to 17-year-old Aryan Gupta from Ludhiana for securing ‘All India Rank 1’ in the NEET-UG examination… By making the disappointment of the cancellation of the examination his strength, Aryan has proved that no destination is far ahead of hard work and dedication… This brilliant achievement and courage of Aryan is a great inspiration for every youth… Best wishes for a bright future…
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 on July 16. Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana jointly topped the country in the examination with 715 marks.
This year, about 20 lakh candidates took the exam at 5,440 examination centers located in 551 cities of the country and 14 cities abroad. Out of these, 11.21 lakh candidates have achieved success and became eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other allied undergraduate courses.
According to NTA, more than 690 marks out of 720 have been obtained by 138 candidates. Of these, more than 93 percent candidates appeared in the NEET-UG examination for the first time. At the same time, 99 percent of the top rankers are between 17 and 19 years of age.
According to NTA, 19 candidates scored more than 700 marks. 1,492 candidates scored 650 or more marks. 10,160 candidates scored more than 600 marks. The marks of 90,780 candidates were more than 500.
