Speaking on the occasion, Kokrajhar Janata Party founder president Abhijit Deepke said, “I am starting my indefinite hunger strike today. I appeal to everyone not to back down. This movement will get bigger. They have made a huge mistake. I urge everyone to come to Jantar Mantar. Our agitation will continue from here and we will go ahead with our march on July 20.”
**Sonam Wangchuk admitted to Safdarjung Hospital**
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital on the 21st day after her health deteriorated. Delhi Police said that Wangchuk was taken to the hospital as per medical advice and the instructions of the High Court. The hospital’s public relations officer confirmed that Wangchuk is currently under the observation of doctors. New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sachin Sharma told PTI that Wangchuk was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated following the orders of the Delhi High Court and he is being given necessary treatment under the supervision of doctors.
