Abhishek Banerjee was not admitted to any other hospital, discharged after medical examination

अभिषेक बनर्जी को दूसरे अस्पताल में भी नहीं किया गया भर्ती, मेडिकल जांच के बाद छुट्टी

Kolkata, May 30 (IANS). Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee, who was allegedly attacked and abused in Sonarpur in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, was also not admitted to another private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday evening. The hospital administration, after examination, issued a medical certificate stating that he “does not require admission”.

After being taken out of Sonarpur by security forces, Abhishek Banerjee was first taken to a private hospital located near the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. However, TMC chief and former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who reached there, alleged that the hospital was not giving proper treatment to her nephew.

After this, Abhishek Banerjee was taken to another private hospital located in Minto Park in central Kolkata. There he was kept in ITU (Intensive Treatment Unit) for examination.

After detailed medical examination at the hospital, doctors said there was no need to admit him. The medical certificate issued by the hospital said that Abhishek Banerjee did not suffer any serious internal injuries and was completely conscious. Therefore, hospitalization was not considered necessary. Doctors prescribed him some medicines, including a digestive medicine.

After this information came to light, Mamata Banerjee present in the hospital premises became angry. While leaving the hospital, he alleged that both Eastern Metropolitan Bypass and Minto Park hospitals refused to admit Abhishek Banerjee and provide proper treatment under pressure from the state administration.

Mamata Banerjee told reporters, “There was pressure on Minto Park Hospital from a deputy commissioner of Kolkata Police not to admit Abhishek. First the elections were won through rigging and hooliganism, then Abhishek was attacked and now even treatment is not being allowed.”

He also claimed that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had called him and assured him of all possible cooperation. According to Mamata, Rahul Gandhi said that if needed, help will be provided in arranging treatment for Abhishek Banerjee in any hospital outside West Bengal.

After this, Mamata Banerjee left the hospital along with Abhishek Banerjee. By the time the news was written, Abhishek Banerjee had reached his residence on Kalighat Road in South Kolkata, which is near Mamata Banerjee’s residence.
