New Delhi, May 16 (IANS). Following the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding saving petroleum and energy resources in the country, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has also taken the initiative. Manjhi has reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy by 50 percent. Now vehicles will be used in the convoy of the Union Minister as per minimum requirement.

Along with the decision to reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has also instructed his colleagues to use public transport as much as possible. He has said that as far as possible all departmental colleagues should use public transport so that India can remain strong in the current global crisis.

Manjhi has said that the current crisis is global, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the countrymen to ensure that there is no shortage of petroleum and energy resources in the country. It is our responsibility that we all follow the appeal of the Prime Minister of the country and save India from going into any crisis.

At the same time, ‘No Vehicle Day’ was celebrated in Agricultural University in Bihar on Saturday. Its objective was that everyone should reach their office on foot or by bicycle without any vehicle.

An order in this regard had already been issued by the university, in which all people were ordered to reach their office on foot. Everyone is seen following this order with full seriousness. A different kind of enthusiasm is being seen among people regarding this.

The Vice Chancellor of the University issued a statement in this regard saying that cycling is beneficial for everyone’s health and the environment. In such a situation, it becomes necessary for all people to reach office on foot or by bicycle. This will improve their health and also benefit the environment.
