Akhilesh takes aim, says 'fight between government and organization in BJP'

Lucknow, July 6 (IANS). Taking aim at the two-day visit of Bharatiya Janata Party and its national president Nitin Naveen to Lucknow, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that there is a situation of conflict between the government and the organization in BJP. Taking a dig at Nitin Nabin’s tea programme, he said that when someone has no work, he goes to drink tea.

During the press conference held at the Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said that during the visit of the BJP President, such an atmosphere was created as if there was a conflict going on between the government and the organization. He sarcastically said, “When we have no work, we also go to drink tea.” His statement came in the context of the BJP President visiting a famous tea shop with party leaders during his stay in Lucknow.

Describing the case of alleged theft of offerings in the Ram temple as serious, the SP President said that Ram devotees and the judiciary of the country and the world should take cognizance of it. He alleged that the BJP government has nothing to show for its achievements, hence issues related to faith are also getting embroiled in controversies. He said that there is conflict within the “double engine” government and the tussle between the centers of power is clearly visible.

Akhilesh Yadav claimed that even today the present government is inaugurating many development projects started during the Samajwadi Party government. Referring to projects like the training institute at Chak Ganjariya, beverage plant and cancer institute at Hardoi, he said that the foundation of these was laid by the SP government, whereas the present government could not complete many projects on time.

Also mentioning about the election preparations, he said that the party will run a campaign to increase the voter turnout in graduate and teacher constituencies. Strengthening the organization up to the booth level, intensifying the membership campaign and the strategy for the upcoming elections were discussed in detail with the officials.

The SP chief also warned of legal action against those spreading alleged fake propaganda on social media. Along with this, raising questions on the foreign policy of the Central Government, he cornered the Government on the issue of China and said that the Center should give clear answers on issues related to national security.
