Lucknow, May 13 (IANS). Prateek Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, died on Wednesday morning. Prateek Yadav breathed his last in Civil Hospital, Lucknow.

38-year-old Prateek Yadav was taken to Lucknow Civil Hospital for treatment. Prateek was taken to the hospital by his family members. Prateek Yadav died during treatment there. At present, Prateek Yadav’s body has been sent for postmortem. Prateek’s mortal remains were seen being taken away in an ambulance.

However, the cause of his death is not yet known. No formal confirmation has been given by the family either.

At the same time, Union Minister of State and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Singh has expressed grief over the demise of Prateek Yadav. He posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “The news of the demise of Prateek Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of Aparna Yadav, Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission, is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved family in this difficult time. May God rest the departed soul in His holy feet and give strength to the family to bear this immense grief.”

Prateek Yadav was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife Sadhna Gupta, and the half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav. Prateek was associated with business and fitness sector. He obtained an MBA degree from Leeds University London. He generally stayed away from active politics. Prateek has neither contested any election nor held any big post in the Samajwadi Party.

His wife Aparna Yadav is a BJP leader. Aparna is currently the vice-chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission. He had joined BJP in 2022. She was married to Prateek Yadav in 2011. However, a few days ago tension was seen in the relationship between Prateek and Aparna.
