"All-party" delegation including Pawar, Raj, Uddhav will meet the Chief Electoral Officer: Sanjay Raut gave information

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said an “all-party” delegation including NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (Ubhata) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray will meet the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra on October 14 ahead of the municipal elections.

He said that state Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal, CPI’s Ajit Navale, CPI(M)’s Prakash Reddy and Kisan and Labor Party’s Jayant Patil will also be part of the delegation and Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi has also been invited.

Raut said he has invited Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as well as Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena to be part of the delegation. He said that even though Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is not a part of the opposition’s Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, Raj Thackeray will join the delegation.

The Shiv Sena MP said, “Meeting the Election Commission is a formality as it does nothing. Still, we have some questions, some secrets which can be disclosed only before the Election Commission. We should continuously present our position before the Election Commission because this is a constitutional system.

Raut said that members of the delegation will later hold a press conference at the Yashwantrao Pratisthan Auditorium.
