New Delhi, July 7 (IANS). On the martyrdom day of Kargil war immortal hero and Param Vir Chakra winner Captain Vikram Batra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan paid tribute to his indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote in the ‘X’ post that during the Kargil war, I pay tribute to Captain Vikram Batra, who defeated the enemies by conquering a strategically important and inaccessible peak with his bravery and valor on his martyrdom day.
He further wrote that the indomitable courage, unwavering determination and unmatched bravery of Param Vir Chakra winner Captain Vikram Batra made him immortal as ‘Sher Shah’. His supreme sacrifice towards the motherland will continue to inspire every countryman to keep the national interest paramount.
At the same time, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote in his ‘X’ post, “Regards to Captain Vikram Batra, the brave warrior of Kargil war, awarded with Param Vir Chakra, on his death anniversary.”
While paying tribute to Captain Vikram Batra, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also wrote that on the martyrdom day of Captain Vikram Batra, the valiant son of Mother India, the hero of the Kargil war, synonymous with indomitable courage and unmatched bravery, awarded with Paramvir Chakra, I pay my humble tribute at the feet of the immortal martyr Captain Vikram Batra. Your story of bravery will continue to inspire the future generations of the country for ages to die for the service and protection of the motherland.”
Let us tell you that Captain Vikram Batra was born on 9 September 1974. He was a brave officer of the Indian Army, who displayed amazing bravery in the Kargil War of 1999. For his indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice during the war, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour. Due to his extraordinary bravery on the battlefield, he is also known by the code name of ‘Sher Shah’. He made the supreme sacrifice while protecting the motherland on 7 July 1999.
