New Delhi, May 31 (IANS). World No Smoking Day is being celebrated today i.e. 31st May to make people aware of the serious health risks caused by tobacco and smoking. In this series, Chief Ministers of many states have appealed to the people to stay away from tobacco and join a healthy life.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote on Twitter, “Tobacco consumption not only causes incurable diseases, but it also has serious economic and social impacts on the family. On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, let us all take a pledge to stay away from tobacco and inspire others to stay away from it to build a healthy and strong society.”
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has also appealed to the people to quit tobacco. He wrote on X, “World No Smoking Day is an important occasion to build a healthy life and an aware society. Smoking is not only harmful for health, but it also has a negative impact on the family and society. Let us take this opportunity to take a pledge to adopt a drug-free and healthy lifestyle and take an active part in making the youth and society aware of the ill effects of smoking.”
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma wrote on Twitter, “On World No Tobacco Day, let us all take a pledge to stay away from tobacco consumption and make the society drug-free! Tobacco is not only injurious to health, but also affects the happiness of the family and society. Only by adopting a healthy lifestyle can we build a strong, aware and prosperous nation.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav posted on Twitter, “World No Smoking Day creates awareness to stay away from tobacco and smoking and inspire others to lead a healthy life. Tobacco consumption is the root of many serious diseases.”
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde wrote on Twitter, “Life is beautiful, don’t let it get tainted by tobacco addiction. Don’t consume tobacco, take care of your health.”
Bihar government minister Vishwa Vijay Kumar Sinha wrote on Twitter, “On the occasion of No Smoking Day, let us all take a pledge to remove deadly evils like smoking and addiction from the society. Take an oath of drug-free life with your family, friends and society and take a step towards a healthy, safe and happy future. ‘Quit addiction, add life,’ let’s take a step towards life.”
