After seven Aam Aadmi Party MLAs left the party, internal differences in the party have come to the fore. Reacting to this incident of defection, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his pain. He said that BJP is trying to create a fight between him and Pilot; However, despite these efforts, he would refrain from saying anything bad about the pilot. Ashok Gehlot commented that BJP will not desist from its actions. He insisted that they were systematically weakening democracy in the country. He further said that it has to be accepted that democracy is clearly weakening before everyone’s eyes. He also alleged that all the investigating agencies are under his control, and cited the recent raid on MP Mittal as proof of this. He said the BJP had earlier also harassed Raghav Chadha, and implicated all the MPs in the liquor policy case who later left the party. Therefore, they must be feeling quite happy with themselves regarding this strategy.
**Gehlot said: The whole country is watching what is happening**
Speaking to the media, the former chief minister said, “The entire country is watching what is happening, yet Modi and Amit Shah are still living under the illusion. Now, that illusion is about to be broken. People across the country have realized that they do politics only in the name of Hindutva. What concrete work have they done to strengthen Hindutva? Apart from creating discord, what else have they achieved? And now, look at today’s events—is this an ordinary incident?” He further said, “They have installed a ‘washing machine’—from which everyone will come out completely ‘clean’. No case will be pending against anyone. They have effectively taken over this ‘washing machine’; they used it to break Congress members in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh—and they have left no stone unturned to do the same here.”
**BJP is trying to create a fight with Sachin Pilot**
Emphasizing on the unity of his party, Gehlot firmly said that no matter how hard the BJP tries, the party leaders will remain united. He said, “Bhajanlal and Madan Rathod repeatedly make statements targeting us; they want me to take Sachin Pilot’s name—especially to raise the issue that people had gone to Manesar. They hope that if I take his name, a fight will start between us. I hold them responsible for this.” “Tell me—how many people have you ‘horse-traded’ with? Have you not spared the people of Rajasthan at all? But, we are still united.”
Gehlot further said, “Ask them: Did they leave any stone unturned in Rajasthan? Because of their misdeeds and nefarious activities, we were forced to stay in a hotel for 34 days. As far as BJP leaders are concerned—don’t the public understand what is going on? Admittedly, we did not succeed in the elections. Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah told a lot of lies. They made false allegations against us—even related to amounts of Rs 5 lakh and 50 lakh. It is one thing to win the elections, but everyone can see what is happening in West Bengal; and if the new generation does not understand this truth, then everyone will have to suffer the consequences.
